Susan Wester-Perez

Susan Wester-Perez was born in New York City in 1959.  She moved several times throughout the country as a child, before settling in Newton, Massachusetts where she spent her formative years.  There, she attended the University of Massachusetts and Massachusetts College of Art before moving across the country to Los Angeles in 1987. The quality of light in L.A. awakened in her a love of bright, vivid and even fluorescent colors, and this remains a signature of her style today.  In 1994 Susan moved to El Paso, TX with her artist husband Jerry Today they live in a 1927 Spanish revival home on the edge of Scenic drive.  Avid hikers, they find their inspiration in the Chihuahuan desert; the skies, the flora and fauna, and the creatures that thrive there are often seen in her work.
