Gerardo Jesus Perez
Gerardo Jesus Perez, "Jerry" is a native of Mexico City, Mexico who migrated to El Paso, TX in 1966. Jerry graduated from UTEP in 1982 with an Art Education degree and a minor in Art. Jerry moved to Los Angeles shortly afterwards to pursue a career with a retail home improvement store who wanted to start a branch of art supply stores. He worked with them for several years before moving back to El Paso. He then became an art teacher for middle and high school for the Ysleta school district. After earning a master's degree in School administration, he moved into that area of education. Although he retired in 2021, he still occasionally works for the district as a substitute administrator. Since he has become semi-retired, he has found his truest creative expression behind the lens of a camera. With it, he strives to capture the spontaneous beauty of the world, and the gift of life and serenity that it offers. He is an avid hiker and birder and loves exploring the desert and locales surrounding El Paso.
