Romy Hawkins

Romy Hawkins is a master of the centuries old metal relief art known as repujado in Spanish.  She is recognized for her historically accurate religious retablos, crosses and southwestern designs created in both traditional and contemporary styles.  A native of Sinaloa, she cultivated her artistry in Germany and Mexico completing her certification in this media, in addition to earning a Psychology degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara.  She has earned numerous awards.  Her current endeavors include teaching at the UTEP OLLI program and she is a gallery owner in San Elizario.
