Karen Burns
"Born and raised in Southern California, moved to El Paso, TX in the early 80s, I now call El Paso home. These two environments, ocean and desert have inspired a lot of my art. I started to work with clay after retirement of almost 40 years in the technology field. Hand-building is my favorite clay technique, though I do use the wheel periodically. It is so exciting to watch the clay form into a character or object. I find myself smiling all during the process of creation. It is a process that requires patience, and hope, that it will make it though, to it's final stage. I see things in life differently, always looking for the artistic viewpoint. It's a wonderful way to spend retirement"
